Measles and rubella are both highly contagious viral diseases. Measles can lead to severe health complications such as pneumonia, encephalitis, and even death. Rubella is generally milder but can cause serious birth defects if a woman contracts the virus during pregnancy. These include heart problems, developmental delays, and deafness in newborns, collectively known as Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS).
